This is a new section on our website that is designed to address your needs as a woman, not just a mom. Each week, we will offer ideas, suggestions, and recommendations from other moms to ensure you are healthy in every way. We will address self-care in a variety of ways. It is important moms live healthy and balanced lives in all areas of their being: physically, emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually. We hope this page will be used to challenge, encourage and inspire you. Emotional CareSupport SystemOne of the most significant ways a woman can take care of herself is by intentionally building a support system. Too often woman will find themselves on an island isolated and alone. Even if a woman is shy and private, by nature she is designed to be in a relationship with others. Take fifteen minutes and answer the following questions:
After you have completed this exercise, you can evaluate those areas of your life where you are experiencing health and support. If you discover you are lacking in any area, you can now be more focused in the specific areas of your relationships to be strengthened. After you have identified the area you want to target first, step back and reflect on what people may be in your life where you have not "seen" as a support system member. Continue to identify people who walk into your life that can pour into your life. Equally important is to see that you may be an important member of someone else's system of support. Finally, a healthy woman has the opportunity to set the course for future generations in her family. Her willingness to include a wide range of people in her circle will not only enrich her life but will enhance the life of her children and family. In the end, her self-care will be like a spring of water that will renew and refresh her from the inside out. |
